Abstract
According to the research of contemporary psychologists and sociologists about the institution of the family, the tradition of polygamy or polygamy is the cause of tension and disruption in the family structure. From a historical point of view, the descent of this tradition is related to ancient times and early human societies, and despite the contradiction and incompatibility with human nature, social relations and special economic, political and cultural conditions, confirmed the necessity of such a thing. Is. The result of this article shows that this issue has emerged in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh as one of the most important texts, which is considered a very rich and reliable source for social and cultural studies. It has somehow influenced the actions of fictional characters.
The deadly conflict between the brothers in the Shahnameh appears as a recurring pattern; So that in every position where such kinship relations have been formed, without exception, it has led to the death of one of the half-brothers. In fact, this article claims that the behavior and mental health of children of polygamous families in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh is not so normal and desirable; Therefore, by highlighting this matter and tracing it in the Shahnameh, he explained its various angles and the research results confirmed the validity of the mentioned hypothesis.
