The analysis of Lailat-al-Mabit’s elements of religious epic in two nursery epopees

Re-creating and versifying the anecdotes of the courage and bravery of religious leaders can successfully play a decisive role in symbolizing and heroic manifestation of leader for children, and also give rise to much more deeper perception regarding religious leaders. In the present research, the authors do attempt to descriptive-analytically study two religious nursery epopees: "One mirror, one dagger" by Mohammad Kazem Mazinani and "He is my brother" by Jafar Ebrahimi. Predominated with epic theme, these two epopees depict the story of Imam Ali's bravery and scarification in Laila- Al-Mabit for children. In the mentioned works, some elements and features of epic such as antagonist and protagonist, hidden names, tricks and cunnings, armors, extraordinary deeds and prognostications are evidently represented. For the ease of understanding the meanings of the poems, the poems of these two works have exploited the Joibari rhyme and appropriate lexical items concordant with children's perception. In fact, both of the epic works, concerning the participants' contributions, have deeply taken the situational context of the addressees into account.
